Our Roots
DWEH is more than a brand.
It is a name. A lineage. A legacy.The Dweh family originated in West Africa, in the Republic of Liberia, from the southeastern region of the country in Grand Gedeh County, with its capital in Zwedru.
Deep within this region lies a small town called Ganbo, home of the Krahn tribe — the ancestral roots of the Dweh family.DWEH is not just a word.
It carries history.
In January 1910, Mr. Dweh was born to the union of Grear Dweh and Garley.
He would later become widely known throughout Grand Gedeh County — not only as a member of the Krahn tribe, but as an interpreter for the Krahn people. His voice bridged communities. His words carried authority.
Because of his wisdom, integrity, and leadership, he rose to serve as a Magistrate for the county for 27 years.
His role was more than a career — it was service.
He was a man of influence, responsibility, and respect.
Mr. Dweh had several wives and was blessed with over 20 children, mostly daughters and a few sons.
His family became part of the fabric of the region — strong, proud, and rooted in culture.
The Dweh name became associated with leadership, interpretation, mediation, and wisdom.
In 1990, during the Liberian Civil War, Mr. Dweh passed away.
The conflict forced many families, including his children, to flee Liberia in search of safety and opportunity.
The Dweh descendants migrated to the United States — carrying with them their name, their culture, and their history.
The land changed.
The language changed.
But the identity did not.
DWEH was created to preserve heritage.
It is a brand born from:
